Thea has been a member of the cat fancy in South Africa for more than 30 years and has been breeding different breeds of short haired cats for more than 3 decades together with her husband Johan.
She has been involved with WCF and Independent cat show organising and administration for many years and more recently with pupil judges’ training, examinations and workshops.
During her years of training she trained at cat shows in Dubai, Brazil, France, Russia, Denmark, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Malta (in WCF, FIFE, LOOF and Independent shows) apart from exposure to cat shows in the South African provinces of Western Cape, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, Gauteng and Kwazulu Natal. Thea qualified as a World Cat Federation (WCF) All Breeds Judge in June 2014. She was the first WCF qualified All Breeds judge in Africa and in South Africa. She also holds an Independent Judges licence for the Cat Judges Guild of Africa (CJGA) and since 2015 she is a Cat Federation of South Africa (CFSA) guest judge.
She has judged internationally for WCF, LOOF, Independent and other cat federations in Malta, Russia, Belarus, France, Holland, India, Australia, New Zealand, China, Thailand, Poland, Lithuania and Germany including several World Shows.
She regularly judges at cat shows in the above mentioned provinces in South Africa for WCF, Independent and CFSA clubs.
International judging invitations for both Thea and Johan are frequent as they are both extremely well respected the world over.
