Johan is extremely well known and respected worldwide. He has held many positions within the cat fancy. Life member of several SACC affiliated clubs, Member of KZN Cat Club, CFSA affiliated, President & Registrar of CASA, WCF affiliated club, WCF liaison officer with WCC, Honorary Patron of AICA (African Independent Cat Association), Show manager for several Independent Cat Clubs.
Cat breeds that Johan has owned and bred in the past and/or presently include: Siamese/Oriental SH/LH/Balinese/Peterbald/Seychellois, British Shorthair/Longhair, Manx/Cymric, Scottish/Highland Fold, American Shorthair/Wirehair, Japanese Bobtail SH, LaPerm SH/LH, Munchkin SH/LH, Sphynx, Cornish, Devon & Selkirk Rex, Thai, Persian/Chinchilla, American Curl LH/SH & Domestic SH/LH.
He completed a judges course in 1989 and first qualified as Siamese/Oriental Judge in 1990 with the Governing Council of the Associated Cat Clubs of South Africa. He qualified as All Breeds Judge in 1994.
